White Label AI Platform: How to Choose One (or Build Your Own) in 2026

A white label AI platform is software you rebrand with your own logo, domain, and pricing and resell to clients as your product. In 2026 agencies get one two ways: license a platform like Stammer or GoHighLevel from $89–$497 a month, or have a partner build a custom platform under your brand that you own outright.

What a white label AI platform actually is

A white label AI platform is the application layer around an AI model, sold under your brand. The model underneath stays whoever it is (Claude, GPT, Gemini); what you white-label is the interface, the workflows, the knowledge, the client accounts, and the billing. That layer is where the client value lives, and where the margin lives.

"White label" covers three very different depths, and most disappointment with these tools comes from buying the first while expecting the third:

  • Branding removal. The chat widget stops saying "Powered by X." Cheapest and shallowest. Your client can still see whose dashboard you're using.

  • Custom-domain deployment. Clients log in at app.youragency.com and see your logo and colours. The vendor is invisible to the client but still owns the product roadmap and the pricing you build on.

  • Full SaaS mode or a custom build. Client sub-accounts, your own pricing plans, automated billing, usage rebilling. This is where an agency actually runs a software business. You either rent it (a platform's "SaaS mode") or own it (a custom build).

Two ways to get one: resell a platform, or build your own

Licensing a platform is faster and cheaper to start; building your own is slower to start and cheaper to run at scale, and it's yours. Neither is wrong. The mistake is choosing without knowing which stage you're at.

Resell a white-label platform vs a custom-built platform
Decision factor Resell a white-label platform Custom-built platform (build partner)
Time to first client Days to 2 weeks 2–4 weeks for a first service line; 4–8 weeks for a full multi-tenant platform
Upfront cost $0 beyond the first month's fee Fixed project fee (scoped); no per-seat tax afterwards
Monthly cost $89–$497 typical; $2,000 for some voice white-labels; plus AI usage Hosting + model usage only, passed through at cost
Who owns it The vendor. You rent the roadmap and the price list. You. Code, workflows, and documentation are handed over.
Differentiation Low: your competitors can rent the same platform tomorrow High: built around your process and your clients' stack
Lock-in risk Real: pricing changes, retired tiers, feature removals hit every client at once None from a vendor; you carry maintenance instead (or the partner does under retainer)
Gross margin at 10+ clients 65–80% 80%+ once the build cost is amortised
Best for Agencies validating an AI offer, or under ~10 AI clients Agencies with a proven offer, 10+ clients, or a need the platforms don't cover

Platform pricing above is first-party as of August 2026 (see the comparison below). Synthflow, for example, retired its published agency tiers and now prices white-labelling at about $2,000 a month on pay-as-you-go or bundles it into enterprise contracts, which is exactly the kind of change that lands on every client you've put on a rented platform.

The white label AI platforms agencies actually use in 2026

If you're going the licensing route, these are the platforms that come up in every agency conversation we have. Prices are the vendors' own published figures, checked August 2026; "white-label depth" is the honest read on what the client will and won't see.

What it costs, and what you can charge

Platform fees run $89–$497 a month for most tools, plus model usage; clients pay $300–$1,500 a month for an SMB-grade agent, and more for productised services built on top. That gap is the whole business.

Two numbers agencies get wrong. First, the client price is set by the outcome (calls answered, leads qualified, tickets deflected), not by the platform fee, so pricing at "2× our cost" throws away most of the margin. Second, platform fees are the smallest line: usage, sub-account limits, channel fees (SMS, WhatsApp), and human-handoff seats are where a $197 plan quietly becomes $600. Model the real account structure before you pick a plan.

We keep current client-price and margin ranges for nine AI service lines, from voice agents ($250–$1,500 per client per month) to full AI content programs ($3,000–$25,000), in our guide to pricing AI services for agencies.

When a platform is enough, and when it isn't

A licensed platform is the right call while you're validating the offer. It stops being the right call when any of these are true:

  • You have 10+ AI clients and per-seat or per-sub-account fees now exceed what a custom build would cost to run.

  • Your delivery process is the product. The platform makes you work its way; your edge is a workflow it can't model.

  • A client needs what the platform doesn't have: a specific integration, data residency, an approval flow, a compliance control.

  • You've been hit by a pricing or tier change that repriced every client at once, and you don't want to be there twice.

  • You want an asset. A branded platform you own is something you can sell with the agency; a vendor subscription isn't.

If none of those apply yet, license a platform and get selling. If two or more apply, the maths has already flipped.

How a custom white label AI platform build works

We build the platform under your brand, hand over the code and documentation, and stay on for delivery if you want us to. Your client sees your agency; we're invisible under NDA.

A typical engagement runs in three phases.

Phase 01 · week 1–2

Discovery

we map the service you want to sell, the client stack it has to plug into, and the multi-tenant model (client accounts, roles, billing).

Phase 02 · week 2–6

Build

agents, workflows, and the branded client-facing layer, built on the models and infrastructure that fit the job rather than a single vendor's stack.

Phase 03 · week 4+

Live

first client onboarded, monitoring in place, handover documented.

Most agencies have a first client live inside 30 days on a single service line; a full multi-tenant platform runs four to eight weeks.

What you own at the end: the code, the workflows, the prompts, the documentation, and the client relationships. What you don't carry: the vendor risk. The build patterns are the ones described in our guides to AI agents for agencies and white-label AI voice agents, and the commercial model is laid out in how white label AI for agencies works.

FAQ · White label AI platforms

Frequently asked questions

What is white-label AI?

White-label AI is an AI product built by one company and sold by another under its own brand, domain, and pricing. The reseller owns the client relationship and sets the price; the builder maintains the technology. The AI model itself is not white-labelled; the application around it is.

Can you white-label ChatGPT?

Not ChatGPT the product. You can build a branded application on OpenAI's models (or Anthropic's or Google's) through their APIs, which is what every white-label AI platform does. Clients see your interface and your brand; the model is a supplier underneath.

How much does a white label AI platform cost?

Published entry points in 2026 run from $29 a month (Pickaxe, annual) and $89 (Botpress, widget-only branding) to $197–$499 for full agency platforms like Stammer, ConvoCore, and Insighto, and $497 for GoHighLevel's SaaS mode. Voice-specialist white-labelling is pricier: Synthflow charges about $2,000 a month. AI usage, sub-accounts, and channel fees are extra.

Is there a free white label AI platform?

Not a usable one. Free tiers exist for building, but white-labelling (custom domain, branding removal, client sub-accounts) is a paid feature on every mainstream platform because it is the feature agencies pay for. Budget at least $89–$199 a month.

White label platform vs reseller program: what's the difference?

A reseller sells the vendor's branded product for a commission. A white-label platform carries your brand, and you own the customer relationship and the pricing. White-label margins are higher, and the client base becomes an asset you can eventually sell.

When should an agency build its own platform instead of licensing one?

When it has a proven offer and 10 or more AI clients, when its delivery process is the differentiator, when a client needs something the platforms don't offer, or when it wants an asset it owns. Below that, licensing is faster and cheaper.

How long does a custom white-label AI platform take to build?

A first service line (for example, a voice agent or a lead-qualification agent under your brand) is typically live with a first client inside 30 days. A full multi-tenant platform with client accounts, roles, and billing takes four to eight weeks.

Want a platform you own, not one you rent?

Book a 30-minute working session. We'll scope the service you want to sell, tell you honestly whether a licensed platform is the better call right now, and if a build makes sense you'll leave with a written price range and a 30-day plan.
